Welcome to the West! Scottsdale, Arizona prides itself not only on its rich Western history but also on a plethora of quite Western activities and events. Start off your Scottsdale weekend by getting to know the Old Town on a stroll through its many streets peppered with art galleries, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and old fashion stores reminiscent of saloons. Try not to get lost while shopping at the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall, one of the twenty largest malls in the US. History buffs will have fun at Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, which was opened in 2015, paying homage to the West. What else is there in Arizona? The desert for sure! Get down and dirty for a few hours – you’ll find the desert amazingly alive. A guided horseback riding trek will wake your inner cowboy or cowgirl, or you can hike popular spots like Pinnacle Peak Park and Camelback Mountain on foot. Make sure to snap a photo with the tallest saguaro cactus you can find, and chances are you’ll even spot a few wild horses, cows, and jackrabbits. After an exciting day, sit down at one of the rustic restaurants for a hefty dinner: Hot chili tacos with a side of guac. A getaway to the West doesn’t get much more western than that!
